So then, a JT590 or a Schaller would be a drop in replacement for a JT500?
I think it was an official Jackson page that said JT500 and JT590 are identical.

No worries... the JT500 is the same dimensions as the JT590, but made with garbage metal.
But yes, a Schaller or JT590 are a direct replacement for the JT500

The only real difference would be the logo on the casting. JT-590 would say Jackson. Schaller would say Schaller or Floyd Rose.

FWIW, Schaller makes both the OFR and Schaller / JT-590.

You mean the gotoh ge1996-t tremolo? The locking bolts will stick out from the back and will not fit the jt-590 route.

No but you could change them yourself for the shorter schaller ones. I think i have that kind of setup on 1 of my guitars i can check.
