Yes, it is pretty simple.

Not sure on the Jazz as I haven't done one yet but I love the '59 tapped. And the Jazz seems to me to be slightly brighter than the 59 so if that helps..Every man dies... Not every man really lives!!Comment

To my ears, not that close. It is strat-esque in character but a coil tap won't really get you the bite of a single coil.I feel festive all year round. Deal with it.Comment

I personally think it is pretty strat-ish. Both guitars I have the tapped '59's in are neckthru and poplar (Model 6 and Soloist Pro) so they may be a bit brighter to start with. The '59 is a bit darker than the jazz so it may sound similar with a jazz in an alder KE3. And it being bolt on, may have a bit more bite too. (This is not law... just mu personal opinion..) Try it out. Just a pot change and easy to reverse or try another pup if you don't like it.Every man dies... Not every man really lives!!Comment

that what i did.. i took itin todayand had them put a push/pull pot installed so i can tap both the JB and the Jazz. should be done by tmrw.i wish i had the money for a CS Kelly with an HSS Configuration..Comment

Post up what you think when you get it back. I just realized I have an extra push/pull pot and a Kelly XL with a JB/Jazz that I'll try too. That's the only HH I have left. All the rest that I still play are HSS.Every man dies... Not every man really lives!!Comment

Are you tapping or splitting?
I put a coil split on my KE3 at one point, thought it was great for cleans in the middle position with both pups split although I can't remember what pups I had in it at the time! Two Duncan Distortions I think.Comment
