  • F-spaced Pick-ups on a string through body

I got an SLS3. I like it, but I want to change the pick-ups. I got two DiMarzios that I bought for a different guitar... which had a Floyd Rose trem. Therefore are these pick-ups F-Spaced. Will that be a problem for the sound?

Jackson's fixed bridges are F-spaced anyway, so the pole pieces will line right up. Though, it really wouldn't be much of a sound issue even if they didn't line up.

Excellent. I shall now pick up my soldering iron. Thank you, Toejam.

What he said. Cork sniffers will tell you they hear a difference but the average person won't ever know.

I have faced another problem... i think. There are three exits from the guitar. Two holes that has a silver wire and a black one. The black goes to ground and the silver to the pick-up switch. But there's another one with just one black wire. It goes to the tonepot. What is this? Anyone?

Most probably. Both '59's are now removed. I thought that since the humbuckers weren't connected to it, I just leave it the hell alone.
I've gotten the bridge pick-up in and I'm about to do the neck. I'll post pics and maybe a vid (if I get my cam working) when I'm done.

That is probably the ground wire connecting the shielding paint in the cavities to the common ground.

Why do I still want MORE?

                    It is done. New setup:
                    Neck: Dimarzio ToneZone
                    Bridge: Dimarzio Evolution

Cool! Don't see many people using the Tone Zone in the neck, besides Mike Romeo who pairs it up with an X2N.

I love it. The problem I had with the '59 was that they sounded too alike. I got a slightly rounder tone from the neck pick-up.
Now it's really singing in the neck position and the bridge pickup has more definition.

I actually was planning to pair it with a X2N... of course after seing Michael Romeo's guitar, but the shop didn't have it at the time.

Nice. I really wouldn't have ever thought to put it in the neck, as I would think it might be a little too bassy there, but I usually prefer brighter neck pups anyway.

It is a bit bassy, but the thing that is so great is that I can set a rhythm tone that is quite sharp and edgy. Then when I switch to the neck PU it really sings and gives it a softer touch. It differs alot from the set-up in my other two humbucker jackson. There I have a Humbucker from Hell in the neck which is a lower output and is much brighter. :P
                              Do you use DiMarzios, Toejam?
