I've got a pair of Evolutions in my Nebula WR1. Better in tone than the JB IMO, tho I imagine others may disagree.Fuck ebay, fuck paypal

What are the best all around pickups (not active) for basswood body ?
I have an EMG81 in my BW sounds awesome... but before this it had a Dimarzio DP100 and it was way way too dark... no bright signing in it at all.

Best pickups for a basswood guitar are the ones that sound best to you in it. I had great success with a Duncan Distortion in one. You might do better with a 59 or Custom. Depends on you.I want to depart this world the same way I arrived; screaming and covered in someone else's blood

IN one of my Ibanez (basswood), I got a Dimarzio Evolution in the neck and a TonZone in the bridge. Really like both PUs.
In my MusicMan JP6 (basswood too), the Dimarzio LiquiFire in the neck is very nice too, but not too sure yet about the Crunch Lab in the bridge. To my ears it doesn't have the "growl" the ToneZone give me. But YMMV.
