  • Touch up paint

I picked up an 89 Charvel knowing there was a chip on the front about the size of a dime. Has anyone touched up a transparent red Charvel/Jackson? If so please let me know what brand and shade of paint you used. I'm thinking of getting a touchup paint pen from Pep Boys but not sure what shade will be the closest match. I've done this with a white guitar with really good results after wet sanding and buffing out the repair.

If it is through the color, I think blending some stain or dye, and filling with clear would work best.
You can test your color in the neck pocket or a rout.

The prudes may snub them, but I don't care.
    I dont need furniture.
If its tough, shreds, and screams, Its all good.
If it gets jacked, I'll get another one.
    And rock that sucker.

Yes it is through the clear. Bare wood is exposed...and you're idea with matching with stain and filling with clear sounds like the best way to approach this. THANKS!!!!!! Where do I get red stain or dye?
