Model 6 Volume Pot

I have a 1986 model 6 and whenever I touch the volume pot there is a loud squeal.
After a couple of turns on the volume the guitar settles down, as long as I don't touch that pot.
From searching on this forum, it looks like I need to change it.
I've done a few electronic projects in the past but I'm no expert.
Could anyone give me any advice or things to look out for in doing this, specifically regarding the circuit board attached to the pot.

Probably easier would be to buy some contact cleaner then just work it in for 5 minutes or so.

Or leave it as is and use the squeal to add your "sound". JK, agree on the contact cleaner option first. I'm no electronics/soldering expert and I've found that messing with the 20+ yr old electronics on Model 6s can be tricky when I don't take my time and map everything out beforehand.
