I find it odd that most people I encounter do not use strap locks on their guitar/bass. why is this?? they are damn cheap insurance IMO. So lets have a show of hands here to see how many use them.

None of the choices in the poll really apply to me.
I only play sitting down and don't use a strap so have no use for strap locks.
When (IF?) I get talented enough to play AND stand upright at the same time, a strap lock will definitely be on there! My Gear: Stoneman SG-1, Hufschmid Tantalum H6, ESP KH-6, Sully #8 JCF One-Off, Templar GuitarWorks Relic Prototype, James Hetfield Tribal Hunt KL Explorer, Coobeetsa CCG-10-DX PRO Eagle, Schecter Hellraiser C-1 Hybrid, Daly Heiro Custom, Gibson Les Paul Custom, Gibson SG Menace, Peavey Vypyr 60 Tube

Yep. Used the Schaller strap locks for....hell, over 20 years.
I put them on all guitar builds as well.

I just dont understand why people dont use them. I have a friend that has played for 35 years, and he has never used them. I mean, they are damn cheap, and work frickin great.......why not use them???"clean sounds are for pussies" - Axewielder

the dimarzio clip lok strap screws into the body. it works the same and is even safer than the strap locks. i had a schaller pair come apart once and my guitar fell. i caught it in time. i have used the dimarzio ever since.GEAR:
