What will happen if I unscrew the truss rod nut from a Pro Mod neck?

Hi All,

I'm looking into replacing the truss rod screw on a Charvel Pro Mod neck for a wheel nut from Stew Mac:

Problem is that I don't know what happens when I unscrew the exisiting one..Will I be able to screw it back after taking it off? What will the fretboard do without a truss rod?

And I know I'll have to router the body and cut a space for it at the end of the fretboard...

Nothing will happen. The neck would bend a lot with no truss rod and string tension on it but you won't have it strung up. As long as the adjuster nut fits on the rod, you'll be fine.
