brass block for shaller floyd?

I talked to a guy today and he said it was used in alot of orchestral band type instruments, horns and such...

I think that's why the 'bell brass' or '360 alloy brass' or any other name it goes by works well for this application. it appears to have just the right properties for musical applications.

it's interesting to see all the different reactions to titanium. one site sells titanium FR parts and now OFR is making an entire rig out of titanium. I wonder if there's a happy medium by getting some a FR with some titanium parts and a brass sustain block with a brass spring claw. the REALLY interesting thing about the OFR Ti rig is the Ti nut... that has struck me as a missed opportunity in upgrading the FR system.
