Yes I stretched them, I don't think they are slipping on the posts. I have never had an issue on my Les Pauls with so I would think my tech. is correct. I have other FR guitars that will stay in tune with the nut unlocked, that's what made me think the machine heads are bad???750XL Cherry Sunburst

Wait a minute; are you saying that you’ve loosened the locking nuts completely and are having tuning issues? That’d make sense to me, considering that a locking nut platform (and the string grooves) aren’t made to function the same way a non locking nut/nut slot would. It wouldn’t surprise me a bit that you’re having issues if that’s what you’re doing.

Wait, this is a Model 2 right? Standard nut with a Kahler string lock? It should stay in tune without being locked if you're not using the trem, it's different from a Floyd Rose locking nut. Also, replacing the Kahler string lock wouldn't alleviate the problem (though it might be a good idea, it's made of better material assuming you get a genuine one). I'd try blocking the trem and seeing if you still have tuning stability issues. If it stops, you should check your knife edges and posts. They might be worn.
