Removing a stubborn trem arm socket

Hi,

so on my new Japanese San Dimas (with an OFR), the nut at the base of the arm unscrews itself within seconds. This sounds like it's about normal for these things and I know that my other one needed a replacement.

So I've got another arm socket I want to put in, but the old one refuses to come out. I can unscrew the hex bolt and take of the bottom of it, but the top is held in by friction and I can't shift it.

Are there any top tips for how to remove a stubborn socket?

Funny, I just ran into that same problem last weekend. Damned nuisance. Gonna try applying a little lube to it and see if it comes out. Hmm. Normally, it's been just the opposite for my junk and the various former girlfriends' bungholes...

I do this with a rubber mallet. Damn thing is annoying!

jdr94's got the cure! It just needed a bit hammer based persuasion.

A hammer and some WD40 should work wonders.
