For those who've seen my post about swapping p'ups in my custom shop Star, I was wondering what a Suhr Aldrich and an SD '59 might sound like in my Charvel. It's got an alder body and a maple w/ rosewood neck/board so it is gonna have different tone characteristics than the mahogany LP's (w/ rosewood board?) that Doug prefers. (For that matter, DA says some of his LP's are stock, all the way down to the p'ups .)
The Aldrich PU supposedly has really pronounced mids and highs but with tight lows and reportedly never gets muddy. How much of that is the tone woods of the LP?
