Floyd Rose spring question

Looking at the photo, it looks like there are chips in the lacquer and/or wood just underneath the springs next to the trem block. Do the springs rub against this part of the wood when diving the Floyd? If so, it could be due to the trem block being too short. This could impact tuning stability and makes things less smooth when using the bar. I got a Promod a while back that did this very thing where it had a 37 mm block instead of the usually 40 mm."Your work is ingenius…it’s quality work….and there are simply too many notes…that’s all, just cut a few, and it’ll be perfect."
