Hi guys.
I got a request to repost my pics of the case repair I did a while back. I think I had the pics on a facebook album that I've since moved.
Anyway, the below was super simple but only addresses re-affixing hardware: a latch that had fallen out but for which I had a replacement and a hinge, the "teeth" of which had loosened, such that the aluminum edging of the case no longer lined up. Tools used are the vise grips shown or similar pliers with which to re-crimp the hinge teeth, a spare piece of plastic to bolster the material behind the latch, epoxy or "mighty putty" (optional), a hand held riveter and rivets (about $20+, I think, at any hardware/home improvement store), and a couple of small washers to prevent the rivets from pulling through the spare piece of plastic.
I'm sure many will find this to be way too many pics for a pretty simple operation. Hopefully though, others will find this useful.
