In doing another project guitar I pulled out one of my all time fav pickup the Jackson J90C and saw how rusty and dull the pole pieces were. Steel wool did not seem like a good option for many reasons but then the idea of using Gorgomyte came to mind.
I actually had a scrap 2" x 2" piece in the trash from last nights setup on a friends Les Paul so I dug it out and gave it a go.
Wow! Just a fast pass or two made them look new. Seems to be no issues with the plastic bobbins as well.
Give it a try next time yourself with some rusty pole pieces!
