Need to get an old-school Floyd post

Just got an SD Soloist and one of the posts is cracked at the top - most of the 'collar' that the wrench goes in is missing. Does anybody know where I can get one? The current posts are different, as were the JT6 posts..

Is it a flat head screw or an allen key?

Allen wrench. It's a stud/insert type, not a wood-screw..

pretty sure budman used to make the post that will fit but his uses a flat head not the allen wrench. dont know if he's around anymore

Any Floyd stud should work seeing its not a JT 6 trem.

Ian, if it's the kind I'm thinking of, it actually is a JT6-style post. Towards the end of the SD era, when a customer would send in their own OFR, they started using the JT6 posts with them anyway. I assume they did this because of the better stability of the inserts vs the original wood screws. (Hence, why Floyd later switched to that design, as well.)

If so, the ones Dave makes are drop in replacements. Better than the originals, actually. He just uses a flathead screw top instead of Allen wrench design.

yep, i had an 85 soloist same problem, they arent available aftermarket at all (or they werent a few years back). funny, BCRichs from the same time period use those same posts, thats were i got mine from had it in the parts bin.

Looks like a JT6 post to me. If you can find an original, great. Otherwise, hit up frets on the net for a replacement pair.
