250k or 500K pots for tone?

OK what do you guys use with humbuckers, 250 or 500K pots? I have 2 .022uf caps. duncan distortion/59 or dimarzio super D/paf pro...just not sure if i want to go with double creme or black pups.

Usually 500k, but it depends on the guitar and pickups. When you turn a 500K tone pot to the 250k setting on the wiper, it's the exact same as a 250k pot turned all the way up. If you find yourself constantly turning down the 500K pot, then you could switch to 250K and get the advantage of a more spread out taper.
