  • SD distortion on RR5

Hi all, I got a 2002 RR5, I love her, suits perfectly my style and the music I play in this period.
I got a SD distortion humbucker I bought for another guitar, I would like to try it on the rr5. Do you think it would be a nice marriage?
or better leave the JB? I'm confused because I love the way it sounds now..is it an easy job to do? never done before on a Jackson

    thanks

I wasn't a fan of the JB in my RR1, flubby lows, icepick highs, but admittedly, that's not an RR5

If it sounds great to you now, there is no other reason to change the p'up than experimentation, which isn't negative in any way though

If you're a bit handy with a soldering iron, it's an easy job
You've got the same color coding as the p'up you're replacing, so all you need to check is which colors are soldered where
(just make sure you identify the correct wires to the correct p'up )
