Neck wrap without strings?

I saw, a few days ago, in a thread here someone here saying that the truss rod should be loose when a neck is without strings for a long period of time or it may wrap. The thing is I want to confirm it but I can´t find out where I read that. Can someone tell me if this is true? Tnx in advance.

Any guitar neck can warp, but this would have a lot more to do with humidity then the truss rod tension, or if you parked a truck on it or something.
