Hard to dive using JT-6 trem

I have a model 2 with the jt-6 trem and its almost impossible to dive on it. Very hard to press down on the bar. It had four springs and i took one off and it didnt seem to make much difference. What to do? Skool me please.

String gauge and spring tension are a big factor in diving.
But if I recall correctly, the trem studs for the JT-6 don't have a lot of pivot angle on them.
This limits how far you can dive or pull up.

I have 3 model 2's with the JT-6 and have no problem diving till all the strings are plum loose, but I use .008's and only have 2 springs on the block.
