I'm trying to repair a Jackson guitar called Mr Atomic. This guitar was purchased used in the early 90's. It has a stylized custom graphic depicting Robbie the Robot holding a girl with some lunar artwork in the background. Neck through body. In very good condition.
The guitar originally had an EMG active bridge pickup that had been removed and replaced with a Dimarzio DP100 Super Distortion. There are two single coil pickups in the middle and neck position. They both have flat plastic covers with the Jackson logo. I assume these are the original pickups. There are three knobs, one's obviously a master volume but it's unclear what the two other knobs are supposed to do. They appear to be wired but adjusting them doesn't seem to produce any effect (EQ or volume). It's weird.
I'm looking for connection schematic or wiring diagram for this guitar. It has a 5 position selector switch.
The EMG pickup (and accompanying electronics) were removed by a local guitar shop. They installed the DiMarzio pickup. Rather a bad soldering job and the owner has had problems with the DiMarzio cutting in and out. I don't believe this guitar is currently wired correctly and would like to return it to some sort of nearly new condition. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance
