Blocking a Kahler?

Hi,

Forgive my ignorance, but is there anyway to block a Kahler flatmount....Or anyway of alleviating the everything going out of tune syndrome when I breaK a string?

Use better strings. No way to block the Kahler bro.

Actually, I have been experimenting with this myself. You can make a small block of wood and place it under the pivoting part of the bridge to keep it from "pulling back". It takes a few tries to get it right but it can be done.

Remove bridge.

Cut a square block of wood 3/4" x 3/4" by whatever the
width of the REAR of the trem cavity is.

Lightly glue block into the rear of the trem cavity.

Replace bridge, restring, and crank up the spring tension till the bridge don't move no more. This way the fine tuners should sit flat to the body and be totally usable.

Done. You can also expirement with spring tension and set it up so it only dives, and comes to rest on the wood block every time.

Piece of pie. Easy as cake.
