How to make a sunburst graphic?

How do i go about doing a sunburst graphic like this Bengal old style ?

I'm interested in knowing how the three color sunburst is made, not the bengal stripes.

Airbrush?

Or can it be done with templates that you hold out from the body and spray through it? If you have pics of someone doing this, please post them. Thanks!
