Wireing help needed

This may be easy for some of you but I'm not sure about it so.......... If I'm making my own patch bay, how do I wire and with what, the jacks from the front to the back. Also I have heard the term Isolated jacks, what does this mean and does it have to be done?

I'm patching my wha pedal in thru the front of my rack and out into the back instead of haveing to go in the back first..... I hope this makes sense . [img]/images/graemlins/scratchhead.gif[/img]
