Stewmac has this stuff called micro mesh. It is used to polish aircraft windows. Supposedly it works well at buffing out spots on guitar finishes also. I haven't had the balls to try it yet myself.

Does this method really work for little dings? Is there any other methods for taking little dings out? Damn coffee table
Thank you.

Just put a doily over the ding in your coffee table.
yeah, krazy glue will do it, but seriously, if this is a new guitar, and you've not done this before, i wouldn't do it. try it out on another guitar first.
Soloist1- I started using this stuff called "Polysand" back in the early 80's on Aircraft Pexieglass ,Watch crystals, and Painted Models I made. It is Cushioned Abrasives on thin foam.
The grits go from 600-12,000 grit.
I once painted a Darth Vader helmet, and polysanded it to a high gloss finish. Looks great.
Not hard to do. Just follow the steps in the directions. http://www.aircraftspruce.com/catalo...s/polysand.php
I have a Micromesh kit I bought probably 9 years ago that I use regularly. It is a great multi pyupose tool, but I never been able to polish glass with it.
Sounds like the same stuff Finnman. Jim they may have upgraded since then. The guy I bought my Abalone from for my GMW builds acoustic guitars. He uses the micromesh exclusively to polish to a glass finish. I saw a pic of his work and it looked pretty high gloss. Myself I'm skeptical and don't have an axe I'm willing to test it on. He also claimed to refinish old Violin's with it.
