Thanks Tim, but um ....the chisel didn't work out so well. Does anybody know a good way to patch birdseye maple veneer? Better yet, what do you guys think this thing would look like in solid black?

Yep, unfortunately there were still some problems and I've told Mark to take his time and not worry about rushing anything. These things will happen and I just want to thank Mark for the time he's putting into this. Apparently there were some problems with a batch of "clear" he received which pretty much forced him to start from scratch. At least they covered him on that though but still a pain in the ass in my book....he's a trooper -
