outstanding work quick question though. What did u use behind the neck to level the clamps with? looks like leather of some sort

:ROTF: I can't believe nobody asked about this until now. I was waiting for everyone to pick on me immediately for this but I heard nothing...till now.

I save all my old leather wallets and belts because they make great clamping cauls, so yes, you are correct! As you can see, I prefer the trifold....lol!

                            • Ok, last one!!

First I'll show the creation/modification of the knobs. As you can see I used a stock set of charvel volume and tone knobs and mounted them to a shaft and turned down the centers on the lathe to accept a birdseye insert.

I did the same thing with the black anodized switch tip I also made below:

I just used a washer to get a nice size circle of birdseye for the V/T knobs and I already had an extra from the fretboard inlays for the switch tip.

I used 2 sided tape attached to the end of a piece of brass to "size it up" with the 220 grit:

Now before anyone gives me hell, no, the guitar is not set up at all, I just lightly started the string slots in the nut and sadles so I could get pics up for you all. (I really have to get some outdoor pics, the binding just doesn't show up!)

                              Enjoy!!!

toe, this shot's for you since you love my "walker" !!

Thanks again to Mark for the beautiful work he did and also to Keith for sacrificing this project for me.

I also want to thank my wife for being the most spectacular woman a man could find......

one last note, hard to believe it looked like this:

                              • Birdseye inlayed knobs!

I knew it was gonna look great, but somehow I wasn't quite prepared for this.

This is 2 steps above awesome! Fantastic work Dave!
