• Lynch nut.......

Thought you guys might find this very interesting, this is a shot of George Lynch's very worn Yellow/White Bengal ESP headstock from the "REvolution" DVD.

Notice the nut? Tell me that doesn't look like the "behind the nut", "JT6" type locking nut with the slotted screws!

      Re: Lynch nut.......

I was watching that dvd yesterday for the first time and I was wondering about that also. Now if I could only find some free time to try out my new George Lynch Time Machine pedal properly.

Here is a bit better shot I took last year in Baltimore.

I never realized it was a JT-6 locknut.

Well, that guitar was originally a brass v-trem wasn't it?

He claims it's a pain in the ass to tune but he like the sound better when the locking clamps are behind a nut.

              That guitar has been around...

I always wondered about that. I wanted to be a Strat and put in a Floyd Rose but was curious as too tuning stability with a locking nut behind the nut.

Here's another pic with the same nut, but on a different neck. Or is it the same neck modified to the esp shape?

Those locking nuts are fine. Never had a problem with tuning stability on my old Charvel Model 6 or Model 5A.

                              I should clarify...

I watched the video last night where he talks about this guitar. He says that changing strings and getting it set-up and tuned is a pain ("that's why he pays someone to do it" ). Once it is set-up it says in tune.
