Re: Your favorite neck pup

Duncan Hot Rails (four-conductor for splittability) in single coil neck slots, and EMG-89 (push-pull volume pot for splittability) in humbucker neck slots. Ultimate versatility from both worlds, thick/juicy in humbucker mode and spiky/Strat-like in single coil mode!

      Re: Your favorite neck pup

I have a JB in the neck of my KV2 and a Jazz in the neck of my RR1 and I like the Jazz best. Very articulate, I use it a lot when soloing. I am thinking of trying out some EMG's though.

EMG 60 or DM DP160 Norton, clear and sharp, no chance to get muddy

I prefer either the Duncan 59 (in one of my N4's) or a real deal Bill Lawrence L500-R (in my other N4). The Duncan Jazz is cool also.

Humbuckers: Bill Lawrence L450, L500-C; DiMarzio Humbucker From Hell, Super 2 (only with an X2N); EMG 60, H; SD Jazz (although I personally think it gets overwhelmed by a JB).

Single-Coils: Bill Lawrence L280S; DiMarzio Cruiser; EMG-S; SD Vintage Rails.

Obviously, I like a bright, crisp sound. Which is probably why my very favorite neck pickup is NO neck pickup...
