Is the crack visible on the bottom of the heel as well? If so, how far does it go?
The truss rod probably won't split the neck under normal adjustments, and having it bolted on a body would hold the pieces together if it DID happen to split, but then the question becomes one of will the trussrod eject the fretboard if it has nowhere else to go?

Anyhoo, shooting some Elmer's Wood glue into that crack should protect it.I want to depart this world the same way I arrived; screaming and covered in someone else's blood

I might be a little concerned about how far lengthwise that crack goes, especially considering how thin those necks are to begin with. I would guess maybe it was tightened down on an uneven neck pocket or maybe someone was attempting to shim it and placed shims in the center.
