I don't want to buy an OFR only to find out it doesn't work either. Are the saddles on an OFR taller (higher up) when compared to a JT580LP? This could be the problem. Because the JT580LP is a low profile bridge, the saddles are too low which forces me to raise up the bridge too high.

Isn't the JT580LP a Lo Pro copy? I would imagine that if you put an OFR or Schaler on there it would sit just on top of the body where it should.
I think it's just the wrong trem for that guitar. Sorry bro.

I agree with you. I think I just picked the wrong trem. Oops...
Seriously, are you SURE saddle height is the problem?
I compared my JT580LP to my Schaller just now, and the difference in saddle height is minimal.
From the description of the problem, it sounds like the guitar has been mistakenly milled for a recessed Floyd, when the neck angle would dictate having a non-recessed one?
The route is definately factory. The original owner is a JCF member. He told me it has an OFR on it originally and it was fine. I will find out tonight if an OFR type trem will work.

Now I just need to find an OFR cheap. I bought that JT580LP thinking that it would be the ticket. WRONG.
I guess I could easily get rid of it on Ebay.
