"okay" meaning "strong enough to hold a bridge?"

...or "okay" meaning "can you find them"?

I'm wondering what the heck is going on if you flip the guitar over...

You won't be able to find them...

In any case, that massive hole is way to big for a vintage trem, so I'd plan on a Floyd install.

Is it really too massive? are you talking about the hole, or the screw holes?

the rout. it's huge, and the screw holes on the bass side are a little too close to the rout hole.

the body you linked to looks better, but it also looks like it's had a floyd on it as well. you can get finished mighty mite strat bodies for $100 brand new; i recommend going that route.

but mighty mite are strat bodies with pick guards, this body is one w/o a pick guard I wanted to build a Repro Charvel Strat.

Can't I just glue a little piece of wood on the inside of the route?

the green one that you linked had a pickguard. MM also has rear routed bodies, too. granted, most of them are h/s/s.

I know, it was just a comparison on the trem area. sorry for the confusion.

Michael, unless you are clever with woodworking and have built and fixed a few of these, not to mention have a well stocked woodshop at your disposal, I highly recommend you start off with new, un-fucked up parts. Your end result will be that much better, and you'll have enough challenges ahead of you without stacking the deck against yourself this way.

Not to hijack the thread, but where can you get them new and finished for $100? Are you talking about waiting for one on Ebay?

                              nope, new. here's a link.

granted, those are solid colors, but their parts are all mighty mite stuff, and their prices are pretty damn good.
