Do you think this combo will sound good for metal and shred type music? Will it sound too bright? How about having enough low end response and clear articulation?

Re: Duncan Custom 5 and Cool Rail with basswood body
Don't know, but let me know.
I am putting together a Charvel Fusion Deluxe with a basswood body. Just got it up and running last night with an L500XL (don't have a single yet). I'm not sure if I liked it - I didn't get to mess with it too much last night.
I'd love to know what this guitar came with originally.

I found out this guitar originally came with a J90C (bright) and a Jackson hot rails neck. After playing with the Bill Lawrence L500XL last night, I think it's a great choice. Very Judas Priest. Now I need to score a neck pickup.
I have an EMG81 as well, and I may drop that in to see how it sounds. If it sounds good, I'll get an SA for the neck.
I also have a full shred which sounds like it may be a good choice as well.
BTW My Charvel Fusion Deluxe was just a body (bought on ebay), and I bolted up a Jackson Fusion Professional (ebony with MOP sharkies) up to it, so it's brighter than the rosewood necks.
