I think the model 1a has J-100's... definitely more "single coil like" than the J200's. But I still don't like them much. Check out Van Zandt pickups for something that really nails the single coil vibe. I find them surprisingly versatile and have used Blues and Rock models in a couple of my Jacksons with great results.
