the neck pocket is too small! what should i do?

Cool body, where did you get it?
Obviously it was built to standard Fender specs, 2 3/16" neck pocket. The Jackson neck is 2 1/4". How good are you with a router?
Also, is that a 24 fret neck. Is the body built to accomodate a 2 octave neck scale wise? Just a thought.Comment

talk to the builder; offer to send the body back to him along with the neck and ask if he can rout the pocket out to accomodate.
if he's not hip to that, i'd personally sand the butt of the neck before i'd work on the neck pocket simply because it's physically easier to sand the butt of the neck than the walls of the neck pocket.
or...get a warmoth neck and save that neck for another project.

If the pickup spacing is anything to go by, it does look like the body was built for a 22 fret neck - in which case you'd have to get it routed closer to the neck pickup anyway (for proper intonation).Comment

its routed for a 24 fret neck, i sent him pictures of the neck heel before he started.
when sanding down the neck heel - do you also sand down the fretboard also, or do you just leave that?

These guys are sending some crap lately.
I believe this another thread here about these guys sending out some bad stuff. I found a thread at another guitar site/forum about these guys putting out bad stuff.
This would be enough to create a cautionary concern with them, if not, drop interest/business with them altogether.Peace, Love and Happieness and all that stuff...

i spoke with the builder again, it turns out he accidently routed the body for a 24 fret OVERHANG. im going to send the body back to get fixed.Comment
