Converting a Floyd nut to a regular bone nut.

I'm planning on removing a floyd nut. Then I want to install a regular bone nut and slap on a small piece of rosewood behind it to fill in the void.

Is this a feasible way too handle this issue? I am aware of the direct replacement regular nuts, but I don't want to go that route.

Oh yeah, and where can I get pre-cut nuts for a Jackson pointy heads?

Doesn't Earvana make a nut that fits on a floyd nut shelf?

I have done it several times to Floyded necks but have only had success on stratheads....with ponty headstocks the angle the strings take to the tuners puts alot of pressure on the nut & if not glued on very strongly they can pop right out(towards the floor in playing position)when tuned to pitch....funny once in the repair shop but not so funny on stage!!
