how do you paint a guitar?

going to a guitar school next month would like to get some experience before i go on painting plus i just bought a compresore its not that big , its a 2.5 horse power, can i use that to paint? i have a guitar stained and ready to work on what are my next steps
p.s. i havent bought a spray gun yet is the one on stewerd mcdonald good? what gun should i buy?

since we don't have any paint tutorials just yet, i'd recommend this site pretty highly. also be sure to check out reranch as well.
