Volume cutting out?

Guys, I just swapped out PUs in a guitar. Well, now whenever I roll the volume knobs up to max, they cut out towards the top. Both volumes. Roll them back just a hair, and you're back in business. Strangely, they didn't do this pre-swap.

If pots, please recommend a replacement for a GMP Pawnshop & Duncan PUs. (i.e., 500K CTSs? Shaft length?) Thanks. [img]/images/graemlins/grin.gif[/img]

take off the knob, get a wrench and tighten down the nut that holds the pot in place. (sometimes it gets loose and when you vol up all the way you start to twist the pot and break connections)

try that and some contact cleaner.

it is possible that the pots got fried between the unsoldering and soldering of the new ones.

Those tiny pots in the GMP's are crap, and very easy to mess up with soldering heat.
Pick up a standard Les Paul set-up from RS Guitarworks with full size CTS pots...it will make a tonal difference.

you could also have an iffy ground. that could make that happen as well.

...not that this has EVER happened to me, of course. /bullshit
