Slanted vs. Flat Mounting Rings

I don't know if this has been asked before but is there any noticable difference in sound between the same humbucker pick up mounted with a slanted mounting ring vs. one mounted flat so that the pole pieces/blades of each coil are flush with the strings?

Also with a slanted pick up in the neck position is the pick up supposed to be higher towards the neck or bridge?

In the bridge position I assume the coil closest to the bridge is higher right?

1. It won't sound any different.

2. The neck pickup ring should be mounted with the high side towards the bridge.
