The last time I cleaned my maple fretboard I used Windex. Worked great.

Careful. Windex has alcohol in it, which will dry up your fretboard.

i'd assume naptha would as well, but of course it flashes off faster. as long as you moisturize apropriately after any drying out you may do, i would pretty much think they'd balance out.
