Tonight I was working on restoring another gunslinger body (usual fill chips, repaint, seal & sand) when I noticed something alarming. I had allready known that a 2nd pickup had been added at some point and the route was very clean. What I didn't realize until tonight was that I have no idea what kind of pickup selector switch was installed on this by the previous owner.
Normal screw spacing of a 3 or 5 way selector switch is 1 5/8 of an inch. Whatever was installed in this had a screw spacing of a hair over 2 1/2". Please see included jpg diagram if I am confusing you.
The gap for the knob to poke up through was really wide as well although that could just be a really careless route. What pickup selector switch requieres that the mounting holes be drilled that far apart?? I am praying that somebody hear knows otherwise I will have to fill the switch hole and bust out the airbrush (it's a graphic body to boot).
Thanks and major props to anybody who can help with this.
