Re: can you change gibson tunner knobs?
He wants to change just the knobs on the tuners. There is a screw holding the knob onto the shaft. Hold the knob while unscrewing the screw (counter clockwise). It (the knob) maybe stuck on there over time, but if you pull outward and/or tap on it lightly with a small plastic tipped hammer or a hard object covered with a cloth it will come off. Then you can change the tuner button to a creme or ivoriod, or pearloid one, or whatever.Tone is like Art: Your opinion is valid. Listen, learn, have fun, draw your own conclusions.

...... Oh and to add, try to replace the knob or (button) from the same mfg or after market mfg. that will fit your shafts. There are flats on the shafts and a diameter you need to match.Tone is like Art: Your opinion is valid. Listen, learn, have fun, draw your own conclusions.

To get just the plastic knobs off, take a shoe string, wrap it around the tuner knob up underneath it a few times, lay the guitar down flat and pull straight up while holding the guitars face with your free hand....works like a charm with no damage.
