I don't change strings that oftem and have only ever broken one at a gig, so I just switched to my backup guitar. I think the string was faulty as it broke aobut 5mm from the Floyd saddle, which was weird.

I may be revisiting my string changing policy... one of my nice broken in strings broke during a gig last night. That sucked.

I do not like risking a break and I typically only play two guitars the course of the night, maybe three if a different tuning or style is required. The guitar that gets the most use gets a string change typically once per 3-4 gigs and I won't play it except for at the gig.
