I can't believe this. There are no EMG pickups at musiciansfriend.com, Sam Ash, American Musical Supply, etc... They're selling guitars with EMG's, but not the pickups.
EMGs are like $20000 starting fee or something for a store to be a EMG dealer I think.. or something.. which means no one wants to buy them and sell them.. try pawn shops or ebay ^^
Which EMG pickup are you looking for?
The shop I go to carries the full line and has a majority of them in stock. Prices are reasonable too.
I'd be happy to help you out if needed.
I bought an EMG 81 complete setup for $95 a couple of months ago from them.
If I remember correctly, the 85 was the same.
That's vol/tone pots, input jack, battery clip and pickup.
And of course they are the quick connect type.
Ah.. not bad, I saw a 85 at a pawn shop along with two single coil EMGs and the pots/setup for $120 though, sadly I was too broke to afford it at the time, but that would of been great to buy, cause I could just sell the single coils on ebay and make like the money back.. Might go buy it this week if I got paid enough hah
