longer scale, thicker strings, lower tuning.

+1, -2: Baritones can be strung up at the same pitch with the same guages as usual... it´s uncommon, but essentially the only thing that makes a baritone a baritone is the longer scale length

Baritone guitars are MUCH cooler than 7 string guitars...

And Baritone Sevens blow both out of the water

I would think tuning a baritone to standard E tuning with such a long scale would be a stress on the neck, no?

depends entirely on string guage.. I can get strings as light as 0.006 or as heavy as 0.080 for guitar...

If of course you try to tune to e standard w/ 15-80, you´ll be breaking lots of strings before you realize you´re getting nowhere...

you can tune a standard longscale bass up an octave to e if you really want to, with the right guage strings of course (NOT .050-.110)

Actuall, come to think of it, alone by definition of "baritone" Sully is technically correct.... while a baritone can be tuned higher, it then technically becomes a "long scale guitar"....

"Baritone" in music theory and such denotes between middle and Bass

I often tune my Schecter to std 440 or half step down with .010 to .048.
