Swapping a 5-way for a 3-way in my Model 3?

I just recieved a sweet black Model 3A and I am thrilled to finally own a twin humbucker (with no single coils!) guitar.

The problem is that the 5-way switch has all sorts of functions which I assume are coil spliting in positions 2 and 4.

i would like to install a standard 3-way when I change those dreadful Jackson pickups in a few weeks. Is this going to cause me any problems? I would just like to have neck, neck and bridge and bridge alone.

I changed out the 5-way for a 3-way in my friends model 3 when I upgraded him to EMG's with no problem. Go for it.
