Re: Calling Dr. Frankensteen.
If he did H-S-S, the body would have to be routed and since it's already drilled for a 6 screw vtrem, forget the Wilkinson and go for a nice polished brass vtrem. It would look killer on it with that finish.
I still think a vintage creame pickgaurd would make it look classy.-Rick

Re: Calling Dr. Frankensteen.
Routing for a hum is no big deal. I've done it, and I'm no expert. That' ther beauty of a strat: the route doesn't have to be pretty! If he went with the Wilkinson, I doubt you would see the original holes, all that easily, anyway. I was going for non-locking trem tuning stability, hence the roller nut, wilkinson, and the locking tuners.

Re: Calling Dr. Frankensteen.
i was thinking white pearloid guard myself, but since you've already got the quilt, the pearloid would be too much for the eye, imo. i'm with dave on the clear guard in that it's such a nice top that you don't want to draw the eye away from it. but then again, do you wanna see the guts underneath?

Clear pickguard or a matching wood pickguard if you could get it. I'll never understand why someone ruins a beautiful piece of wood by top-routing I want to depart this world the same way I arrived; screaming and covered in someone else's blood
