    Re: Calling Dr. Frankensteen.

Thanks guys for the tips. I am going to use the neck off of this http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...%3AIT&rd=1. It's a 1981. Very little fret ware and it has a nice vintage feel. Then I will sell the rest. What I do want to do is reshape the headstock to be more Fenderish. Here's a close-up. Any tips? Hmm...You MAY have just enough to do a pre-CBS headstock, like the currnet Fenders, although it DOES have a bullet trussrod. I re-shaped a big headstock not too long ago, making a plexi template off my small headstock neck. That allowed me to see through the template, and align eveything just right, so I could trace it, properly, and then cut it with my hand-held jigsaw. It took it down JUST before the marks, and sanded it down to the lines, the rest of the way, all by hand. Fun, fun, fun.
You SHOULD be able to find a close-up of a small headstock, online, and overlay the two, in a photo program, to see the diff. Anybody here, have a usable pic, like that? Otherwise, I'll pull my template out, scan it, and send a copy off to you. It's up to you.
