If I had to guess:
Red - hot

You should also be able to tell which wire is connected to the 'tip' by looking at the jack, tip is 'hot'/pos. 99.9% of the time.
Black is always - and Red is always + with few exceptions.
I have an electrical multi-tester that's great for that kind of stuff, if you're doing your own tech, you should get one, they're quite handy.Comment
