I have a few questions about Humbuckers that I would really appreciate help on.
First off, I am getting more and more into dual humbucker guitars with 3 way switches. I've noticed that when the switch is in the middle (both pickups) it is much quiter than when it is on the bridge or neck position only. Is this correct?
On a brand new les paul I have here I've noticed a feint hum in the background. If you touch any parts of the metal on the guitar, it disappears. Looking at the wiring, it looks grounded properly. Also, the hum is definitly not as loud as the usual hum when a guitar is not correctly grounded.
How much hum is acceptable on a humbucker guitar?
Thanks for any info,
rich
